A Thai-language forum will be held about the importance of conserving cultural heritage at Siam Society later this month.
A panel of three experts will discuss aspects of conservation in three different Thai provinces on Sept 19 from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
The topic is "Heritage of the Provinces: The Conservation Paths" and the forum will present case studies from three provincial communities to show the strategies and work structures that contribute to the successes or failures of conservation efforts.
The speakers will be the mayor of Rayong province's Muang Klaeng municipality, Somchai Chariyacharoen, Cultural Council of Lop Buri chairman Amnuay Junngern and former Thaksin University director of Southern Thai Studies Pitaya Busararat.
Participants can learn about the best ways for communities to manage and protect their cultural heritage and how different levels of government can help local conservation activities.
Necessary regulations and the methods that can give communities a greater appreciation of the value of their heritage will also be on the agenda.
Siam Society is located on Asok Road.
The public is welcome and admission is free. For reservations and information, call 02-661-6470_7 ext 204 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
