The Finance Ministry has forwarded the names of 14 officials, suspected of involvement in the fraudulent refunding of value-added tax worth billions of baht, to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).
Rungson Sriworasat, finance deputy permanent secretary, said the accused officials work in Bang Rak district of Bangkok and in Samut Prakan and Nonthaburi provinces.
He said the DSI already has information about executives and people involved in the VAT refund claims of 60 companies totalling 4.2 billion baht. The Finance Ministry had also investigated the issue and the DSI asked the ministry to send the list for a comparison.
