Pump prices down tomorrow

PTT and Bangchak Petroleum on Tuesday evening announced that they are cutting pump prices by 0.50 baht a litre for petrol and gasohol, and 0.30 baht per litre for gasohol E85.

Effective early Wednesday morning, the new retail prices of fuel at PTT and Bangchak outlets in Bangkok and nearby provinces will be 42.15 baht per litre for petrol 91, 36.23 baht for gasohol 95, 33.78 baht for gasohol 91, 30.78 baht for gasohol E20 and 20.78 baht for gasohol...

    oldexp, discussion 1, the increase of the subsidy for diesel (which is rather a reduction of tax and other levies) is used to keep the price of diesel under 30 baht, which would otherwise not be possible, due to developments on world markets. Hence, a logic that is rather different from the rice pledging.

    Same logic as rice pledging.
