The second phase of TOT Plc's third-generation (3G) network expansion will be put off until next year, as the state telecom enterprise could not decide on its funding options by next month.
President Yongyuth Wattanasin said TOT was seeking the most effective source of funds for the expansion project.
"We are considering starting an infrastructure fund, similar to that of True Corporation," he said, attributing the delay in the funding decision to the uncertainty surrounding True's plans. "We are waiting for clarity on the fund."
