The Tourism Council of Thailand has estimated that Samet island will lose around 100 million baht in tourism revenue because of last Saturday's offshore oil spill from a PTT Global Chemical Plc facility.

The council said the estimate covered the short-term impact as the accident occurred in the low season for tourists visiting the island, chairman Piyaman Techapaibul said on Thursday.
