Well Terry, the article says that he has been sentenced, but it does not really say that he has been put in jail, does it? I am sure they have appealed already and he is still driving his Merc through the srteets of Bangkok.

This is Thailand. The guy comes from a rich family. There will be an appeal. His father will make a "contribution" to the police's "favourite charity". His sentence will be halved because of some "technicality". He'll spend one year at the most in a comfortable cell in a place of detention for the rich. His father will make a payment to the people who suffered in the accident, and they will keep quiet because they know "the rules". When the dust has settled after 6 months, he'll be released as everyone will have forgotten about the case. He will be told to keep his head down for a while, and the status quo will have been restored. I've seen this happen so many times over the last 25 years. With money you buy the kind of "justice" you want.

Yep, i,m afraid this is EXACTLY whats going to happen , witnesses will be bribed or intimidated, The usual palms will be "greased", and at the end of the day he will "walk", his license will be restored(if he lost it in the first place) and he will be back on the streets to cause further mayhem , i find it somewhat strange that people like MINNIE,who are so keen to lambaste Abhisit, the DEMS and PAD seem to overlook what is happening day in day out all over Thailand in regards to "real" justice".
