I don't even want to really address the two airport question. I want two questions, 1) What is wrong with Don Muang and 2) What is right with Suwanabhumi? The whole concept of Suwanabhumi is a scam. Limited taxi access, limited meal choices, monopolized shopping - the whole thing is designed to put money in the pockets of a few business elites and not really for Thailand at all. Close that thing down, it is already leaking a great deal, and the heat is unbearable at times of the day ( I am told). Don Muang had some class. So to me the question does not even involve whether Don Muang should be open or not. It is a question of whether Suwanabhumi should remain open after Don Muang is reopened. Oh, it is needed for the bigger A380? okay let them land there. That should be about 5 flights a day, max, in a year or two.
