i am having some trouble at the mo as i am now 6 months pregnant and have returned to the uk to have the baby, and to get the baby a passport when it arrives.
i hoped that my thai partner would be able to come with me . no such luck.
we applied for a tourist working visa for him as we were told at the british embassy that this would be ok but when we came to hand the application in they told us that he could no longer apply for such a visa but that we could change the visa to a visiter visa. we added a covering letter explaining that he no longer wished to work in the uk etc etc.
however he was asked to attend an interview two weeks later where he was quite litterly ripped to shreads.
we have been together for three years are engaged tro be married , have a good sponsor willing to provide money and accomodation . but it just does not seem to be enough.
the immigration did not believe that manit my partner would return from the uk and that he would work whilst he was there . they said that he could not have the visa because we were not married and that he did not have any assets in thailand. he told them when asked that he wanted to come to the uk to support me and be there to see the birth of his first child and for us to be married in england as we had planned.but cold heartedly they still refused the visa.
at the british embassy they kept some of our documents but they were originals and could not be replaced as they were from the sponsor. they refused to give them back just claiming they wanted them. i was inside the building as they let me in being hot and pregnant so i told them that i would not leave the embassy untill they gave us all of the documents back eventually after a lot of tantrums on my behalf, they gave us the papers but we were the last to leave the building. i was so angry and could not stop crying. i had been living in thailand for a year and had to leave the country . so the father of my child will not be there to support me through the birth or to bond with the baby after the baby is born. i have been advised not to travel with a new born until two months after the birth.
i went to see a solicitor yesterday who was distgusted at what i told her she said that if we were to appeal we were more than likely to win . however this would take 6 months when we can start applying for a settlement visa. the solicitor also told me that the embassies are barking mad and that we could have all the paper work precise the next time and they could still decline the visa for there own reasons
so the plan was that i would go to thailand with the baby and we would marry in bangock . but the settlement visa sounds very complex too.
i really do not want to give in but i feel like we may have to live i thailand so we can be together.
i am so mad at the way we and others
have been treated i can not believe our own country is being so unjust.
we want to apply for a settlement visa and am interested as to what agent you used in thailand and where as i will need some help with this.
cheers good luck a happy story.for you
I feel like thye treated me like I am a criminal that want to go to their country!!!!
Even I have told them that my sister lived there with her husband and I want to visit them and I want to see my nephew --still not good enough!!!
They said I can do the appeal thing but it will take few months by that time my husband probably got a job in middle east already!!!!!!
