and the company is recognised as the first Thai property developer
to offer genuine commitment and care
for the quality of life of both mothers and their children
Sansiri PLC. was recently awarded the ‘Breastfeeding Model in Workplace 2013’ Shield of Honor by \\ //// Princess Srirasmi, Royal Consort of \\ //// Crown \\\ //// \\ ////. Princess Srirasmi has always advocated the establishment of a breastfeeding room in workplaces as part of the Saiyairak (the Bond of Family Love) Project, a project initiated by \\ //// Crown \\\ //// \\ //// and \\ //// Princess Srirasmi. The project is supported by a network of relevant governmental agencies including the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, the Ministry of Labour; the Department of Health, the Ministry of Public Health; and the Foundation of the Thai Breastfeeding Centre. The project has continuously promoted the establishment of a ‘Breastfeeding Corner in Workplace’ since 2006. Today, more than 906 leading companies have adopted this policy and Sansiri PLC. is the first and only Thai property developer that has received this prestigious Shield of Honor through demonstrating genuine commitment and compliance with this important quality-of-life matter.
For several years now, Sansiri has entered into an official partnership with UNICEF Thailand, in showing commitment to both improving the well-being of children and upholding their rights. The company has a long-standing policy of conducting ‘child-friendly’ business practices, and child labour is strictly prohibited. The company also supports the ‘6 Months Exclusive Breastfeeding for Infants’ guideline and has allocated both time and space for breastfeeding in their workplaces for postnatal mothers, enabling their children to continue to benefit fully from breast milk even after their mothers are back at work. A fully-equipped Breastfeeding Room with hygienic breast milk storage facilities as specified by UNICEF Thailand and the Thai Breastfeeding Centre has been established at Sansiri offices in Siripinyo Building, Ratchapak Building and at its Pre-cast Factory for the benefits of Sansiri employees.
In addition, Sansiri has made it easy for employees who have the necessity to bring their children to work by establishing a Children’s Playroom complete with resources and materials for child development and an emphasis on hygiene and child-friendliness at the Siripinyo Building.
With an aim to becoming a role model for other business organisations to follow suit in the protection of child rights, Sansiri has adopted ‘child-friendly business practices’, and has already carried out several child-friendly initiatives in collaboration with UNICEF Thailand. These initiatives include the introduction of child-care training courses for Sansiri employees; company welfare policies which are supportive of children’s rights and development; and, the allocation of sufficient space in the workplace for proper care of children. Such efforts are made to ensure the right balance between personal and professional life in the workplace because the company believes it is an important cornerstone to help achieve an even better, more capable generation of Thai people and, of course, a better Thai society in future.
Mrs. Anonglak Ratthaprasert, Senior Vice President – Customer Relations and Human Resources Department, Sansiri PLC., recently represented the company in receiving the award at the Miracle Grand Hotel Bangkok.
