The South Bangkok Civil Court on Tuesday ordered Prachai Leopairatna, former leader of the dissolved Matchimathipataya Party, to pay Leena Jangjanja 1.25 million baht compensation plus interest.
Mrs Leena filed a lawsuit against Mr Prachai demanding 1.25 million baht compensation for not fielding her as a Matichimathipataya candidate in the December 2007 general election in Bangkok's constituency 8 as promised.
She said she had spent more than one million baht on campaign billboards and other expenses.
The court ordered Mr Prachai to pay Mrs Leena the compensation, at seven per cent interest, within 30 days.
Will Prachai pay up quickly or will he resort to legal means to delay payment?
after all, 1.25 million + interest is peanuts to Prachai

Do you recall he was head of the Thai Petrochemical Industry Plc (TPI) and stalled for ages on the group's rehabilitation plan.
My guess is Ms Leena won't see any baht for long time!
