Ernie Watts will perform at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit’s Living Room from May 22-25 starting at 9:30pm.
The legendary sax man, Ernie Watts, is coming back to show off his prodigious talents at The Living Room of Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit for four mesmerising evenings from May 22-25 at 9:30pm.
The two-time Grammy Award winner is one of the most versatile and prolific saxophone players in the music scene and has featured in over 500 recordings with artists as diverse as Cannonball Adderley and Frank Zappa.
During the 1970s and ྌs, Watts was immersed in the Los Angeles music production scene. His signature sound was heard on countless TV shows and movie scores, almost all the early West Coast Motown sessions, and on stage with stars such as Aretha Franklin and Steely Dan.
The sessions allowed Watts the chance to hone and refine his tone and after years in the studios, Watts' passion for acoustic jazz remained. At the end of a long day of sessions, he could frequently be heard playing fiery jazz in clubs around Los Angeles.
Watts has released 15 solo records and in recent years started his own label, Flying Dolphin Records.
During his residency at The Living Room, Watts will perform with the jazz pianist Jeremy Monteiro's International Trio. Jeremy has recorded more than 20 jazz albums and has played on numerous other top artists' albums. The trio also features bassist Christy Smith and drummer Shawn Kelley.
Tickets cost 1,200 baht. For reservation, call 02-649-8353.
