Tpo's festival finale

The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra will conclude the seventh season of its concert series with the "TPO's Festival Finale", which features Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 (also known as Emperor Concerto) performed by piano soloist Rolf-Dieter Arens.
Maestro Gudni Emilsson will lead the TPO in a performance of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 12 (also known as The Year of 1917).
Arens was a regular soloist with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, and toured Europe with them. He has also had concert appearances all over the world both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. He has been Liszt School of music's president for 10 years.
The German pianist has been active as a jury member at important international piano competitions. He has also been chair of the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition of Weimar, and the artistic director of several Liszt festivals. Since 2007 he is chairman of the Liszt Foundation. In addition, Arens is artistic director of the summer music academy at the Hundisburg castle. He has taken part in numerous radio broadcasts and has made recordings for television and CD productions.
The TPO's Festival Finale will take place in the Music Auditorium of Mahidol University's College of Music on Sept 21 at 7pm and Sept 22 at 4pm. Tickets cost 300 and 500 baht (100 baht for students).
