The Airport Link is a popular and useful way of getting to Suvarnabhumi Airport, but until now offered little in the way of artistic inspiration.
A group of 13 members of the Fine Arts Department, Faculty of Architecture, at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Lat Krabang, have used the railway line as inspiration for an exhibition.
Entitled "Airport Link", the contemporary art exhibition conveys the connection between the arts and cultural centres of Thailand _ Chulalongkorn University's Art Center, and the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Lat Krabang. This connection has resulted in a network of academic institutions that drives the contemporary art society of Thailand forward.
The exhibition is based on the idea that diverse living spaces are connected by journeys much in the same way diverse tastes are connected by artistic aesthetics. The works include paintings, sculptures, prints, mixed media works and video art pieces.
