The American Independence Day Picnic 2013 will take place at KIS on July 6.
You don't have to be American to enjoy this picnic, but it might help.
KIS International School is hosting the American Independence Day Picnic, which promises food, drinks, music and games that will appeal to all ages, on July 6 from noon to 8pm.
Held annually by the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (Amcham), the picnic day will feature a traditional American barbecue, with hot dogs, burgers, ribs, and the great chilli cook-off, along with apple pie and ice cream and a huge selection of classic and craft American beers.
American rock, blues and folk music will be played all afternoon by Bangkok's best American bands, including Krispy Durian, Southern Cross, Mekong Doctor Blues & The Groove Junkies, Wildside, Peter Driscoll and His Cruisers, Matt Fischer and the Fishes, and Mike Agana and Friends. Children can enjoy "Mattel-Land" with face painting and clowns, a giant wave slide, a rodeo bull, darts, cotton candy and popcorn. Family fun will include an egg toss, three-legged races, tug of war contests and bingo.
Beyond the barbecue, there are also numerous food and beverage booths provided by Anantara Bangkok Riverside, Roadhouse Barbecue, Sunrise Tacos, Eclipse restaurant, Coca-Cola, Singha, Siam Winery, Jack Daniels, Dairy Queen, Baskin Robbins, and many more. Visitors will also have the chance to win flights to the US aboard United and Delta Airlines. Organisers promise you don't have to be American to enjoy the family fun.
Tickets cost 300 baht (200 baht if purchased in advance from Amcham) and no admission fee for children under the age of 12. KIS International School is at Kesinee Ville on Pracha Uthit Road. For more information, visit www.amchamthailand.com/iday2013.
