Mike and Sulley might be the monsters taking up space on billboards and movie posters, but spare some attention for these critters from Kamonchanok Panuwed.
Studio Miu Art presents "My Journey With Monsters", an exhibition of Kamonchanok's ceramic creations which are designed to motivate the viewers (and the artist) to stick to their ambitions and achieve their personal goals.
According to the artist, people nowadays have many responsibilities and have to work all the time as though they were machines. Sadly, most of them forget the dreams and goals they truly want.
Kamonchanok this year won the Best Award in Industrial Ceramics Design at the 16th National Ceramics Exhibition of Thailand.
Last year she was selected to participate in a project for the Department of Export Promotion at the BIG & BIH fair. She had also worked as a trainee at Shingama Seika Factory in Arita, Japan.
My Journey With Monsters will be on display at Studio Miu Art from Aug 10 to Oct 11. The opening is on Aug 10 at 6pm. The studio is located on the basement floor of Home Place Bldg, Thong Lor Soi 13 and opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Call 02-712-7878.
