The ‘Thai Innovative Crafts in Honour of HM the Queen’ fair is running at Sacict, Bang Sai, Ayutthaya, from tomorrow to Monday.
To honour HM the Queen's 81st birthday anniversary, the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (Sacict) presents activities and products from tomorrow to Monday.
The "Thai Innovative Crafts in Honour of HM the Queen" fair will feature handicrafts from the Sacict and other arts and crafts centres as presented by more than 400 shops from across the country. The products for sale include clothes and fabrics, pottery, home decorative items, accessories, wicker works and furniture.
The event runs daily from 10am to 8pm, with activities such as a contemporary art and cultural performance, a luk thung singing contest and mini concerts by artists including James Mar, Bella Ranee, Pancake-Khemmanij, Bai Toey R-Siam, Gun-Napat, Hun-Issariya and Rit-Ruengrit.
There will be three exhibitions:
The "Mother Teaches Her Child _ Handicrafts of the Nation" showcases craftwork by artists who were inspired by Her Majesty.
The "Master Artisan's Creation" presents eight masterpieces by craft masters from different fields. Each of the works narrates the story of HM the Queen.
The "Honouring Master Artisans" is dedicated to more than 40 craft masters nationwide.
The fair will feature the country's first light and sound extravaganza recounting Her Majesty's love for the Thai people and her royal duties as the "Mother of the Nation".
Directed by prominent scriptwriter and director Prof Manop Meejamras, the four-part Narrating The Story Of Her Majesty, Greatest Of The Nation will be put on a large panorama screen with multimedia effects, every evening from tomorrow until Sunday.
