To celebrate the 81st birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, Jim Thompson presents the "Mai Tai Rajini" concert in tribute to the dedicated and continuous support she has given the Thai silk industry.
The concert, set for 7pm on Thursday at Thailand Cultural Centre, will feature a selection of Thailand's timeless pieces performed by the renowned Mai Tai Orchestra, an ensemble of 30 high-calibre musicians.
Celebrated composer and chamber musician Dnu Huntrakul will conduct, sharing the stage with leading vocalists including Surasee Ithikul, Supatra Korad, Patinya Tangtrakul, Nattaporn Thammathi, Siripong Patwong and a cappella group The Resonance.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Foundation of the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand and the Music Education Fund for Young Musicians, which was initiated by HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana.
