Tony Bennett will perform a fund-raising dinner concert at Mandarin Oriental Hotel’s Royal Ballroom, on Sept 15 at 8pm.
Age can't wear Tony Bennett down. The 87-year-old jazz legend will fly to Bangkok for a special charity dinner concert next month.
Presented by the Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand under the patronage of HM the King, in collaboration with Chitralada School and BEC-Tero Entertainment, "An Evening with Tony Bennett" will take place in the Royal Ballroom of Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Charoen Krung Road, on Sept 15 at 8pm.
This is the first time fans will have the chance to see one of the most successful jazz artists, with 17 Grammy awards under his belt, performing in the Kingdom. The American, who served during World War II and then developed a music career spanning half a century, began his career with his No.1 hit Because Of You in 1951.
Jazz-loving guests can expect to be treated to hits such as I Left My Heart In San Francisco, Cold, Cold Heart, In the Middle Of An Island, Stranger In Paradise, The Good Life, Fly Me To The Moon, Rags To Riches and The Shadow Of Your Smile amongst other favourites.
Proceeds from the charity dinner concert will be donated to the HRH Princess Sirindhorn Foundation for Chitralada School, the princess' initiative to support the school's educational management and activities linked with social and community interests and development.
Tickets cost 20,000 baht per seat and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major.
