Artery Post-Modern Gallery presents "Meet Me Half Way", an exhibition by young and emerging artists Chumpol Kamwanna and Nitis Wanichaboon whose work has been seen in many countries in Europe.
On display are 30 oil-on-canvas paintings and installations that focus on frontal and sideways views of humans. Their works aim to inspire the viewers to ponder the things surrounding us.
As long as the world rotates around itself, life must go on. We're living in a society with a diversity of cultures, traditions and lifestyles.
Their works also aim to raise a question about self-identity. Our livelihoods are commonly influenced by everything around us, including the economy, society, politics, religion, education and culture. So as a human being who is destined to face the circle of birth, ageing and death the same way other fellow humans do, how far we can learn to deal with the differences among us and accept wholeheartedly that we are all equal?
Meet Me Half Way will be on show at Artery Post-Modern Gallery from Saturday to Sept 28. The opening party is on Saturday at 7pm. The gallery is located on Silom Soi 19 and is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm.
