Crooner Suthep Wongkhamhaeng is turning 80 soon, but his trademark velvety voice is as charming as ever.
And toward the end of the month, he will be back on stage to serenade fans with classic hits one more time.
Presented by the Singers Association of Thailand, the "Tam Roi Phrae Bon Fong Beer Year 80" concert will feature a repertoire of 40 golden songs which have made up the soundtrack for radio, stage and TV soap operas.
They have been selected from the almost 5,000 songs he has recorded throughout his six-decade career. But they will be rearranged with a modern feel.
The concert will take place at the Bangkok Convention Centre, 5th floor of CentralPlaza Lardprao, Phahon Yothin Road, on Sept 29 from 2pm.
His life story and memorable pictures which have never been shown elsewhere will also be presented.
Joining him as guest artists will be contemporary crooners who will be singing his timeless songs in a new style. The line-up includes Sawalee Pakaphan, Pussadee Wongkamhaeng, Chomchai Aroonchan, Charum Thepchai, Promthep Theparat, Umaporn Buapueng, Thakorn Thepthong, Wichai Poonyayan, Sumet Ongart and Duangporn Pongpasuk.
Providing backup music will be the 30-piece Mit Tang Wai Band conducted by Atthaporn Kampoo Na Ayudhya.
Tickets range from 1,000-2,500 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major booths.
