May-T’s Strawberry Fields Forever .
With reference to The Beatles' song, the "Strawberry Fields" exhibition on now at RMA Institute Gallery comprises graffiti and graphic works by Yuree Kensaku, May-T, Rukkit and P7.
Curated by part-time lecturer at Lasalle College of the Arts Loredana Pazzini-Paracciani, this group exhibition is not just an art showcase, but also has environmental messages, trying to reclaim urban green zones in Bangkok.
With graphic markings and graffiti on the gallery walls, the exhibition creates an imaginary garden beyond the gallery's own bounds of greenery. While some objects are portrayed in graphic collages, luminous sculptures are used to transform the gallery space beyond its usual function, and canvases and graffiti are employed to create a garden-like space within an enclosed area, all working together to raise people's environmental awareness.
Until Sep 30, at RMA Institute, Sukhumvit Soi 22. Open Tues-Sun, 10am-7pm.
