Two hands can mould an idea into shape. This is the inspiration behind "Siam Center World Handmade Design Trend by Wallpaper", an exhibition running until the end of the month.
Held in collaboration with Wallpaper magazine, the exhibition represents the theme "Handmade" through a selection of 19 art pieces created by Thai and international artists.
Among them are the Chin collection by Tube Gallery and Christian Develter, the Forever Love ring by Nutre Jeweller, a cement/wood lamp by Think Studio, a fruit bowl by Studio 248, the Krapong side table by Anont Pairoj, porcelain dolls by The Immortal Classique and Kloset, hand-knotted silk scarves by Jim Thompson and Jakkrit Anantakul, and the Innei bottle by And Studio.
Also featured in the event are handmade items by young-blood designers such as the PT40 dining chair by P Tendercool, Aromatic Herbal Lozenges by Mowaan, Ebony jewellery by Tharapong Prajuabmoh and La Nostagie ceramics by Emsophian Benjametha.
Presented in a museum-like ambience, the well-designed exhibition combines style with simplicity. Some of the handmade items are shown in glass cases and some can be seen on stands.
Siam Center World Handmade Design Trend by Wallpaper is running at the Idea Avenue, 1st floor of Siam Centre, RamaI Road, daily from 10 am to 10 pm until Oct 31. Call 02-658-1000 ext 2262.
