Stefan Cassar makes Bangkok debut

Celebrated pianist Stefan Cassar will be giving a Bangkok debut performance at Goethe Institute on Nov 13 at 8pm.
Presented by D&M Music Studio, the "Stefan Cassar Piano Recital" will see the Lyon-based pianist performing a programme of Brahms's Capriccio No. 1 and No. 2 Op 76 , Beethoven's Sonata _ Pathetique , Op 13, Liszt's Sonetto Del Petrarca No. 14 and Funerailles, Ravel's Une Barque Sur l'Ocean and Chopin's Ballade No. 1 Op 23 and Scherzo No. 2, Op 31.
Cassar is a graduate of the Royal Schools of Music in London, as well as of the Ecole Normale Superieure de Musique de Paris where he studied after being awarded the Eyton Scholarship offered by the Albert Roussel Association of Paris.
Described as a celebrated pianist on the music international scene and an ambassador of the city of Lyon, the established performer is also very active, holding masterclasses around France.
He performs not only in France but also in other European cities. This season's programme will include recitals in Chicago and Berlin, as well as a tournee across Switzerland next May.
He has recently given a recital in Zaragoza, Spain. Organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the recital saw him performing on the new M. Liminal Fazioli piano. His major events included the annual music festival Un Piano a Collonges of which Cassar is artistic director. This takes place early June in the magnificent 16th century abbey of Collonges located in the midst of the picturesque country side surrounding Lyon.
He is one of its regular performers, together with other renowned prestigious artists from all over France.
