The annual Rainforest World Music Festival, set in the lush jungles of Sarawak, Malaysia, is set for a three-day weekend of music and dance from June 26-28 at the Cultural Village, just outside the state capital, Kuching. The region's premier world music event has recently garnered awards, and for the fourth year running was on Songline magazine's list of 25 top international music festivals.

The festival is the brainchild of the organiser, the Sarawak Tourism Board, which also organises the annual Borneo Jazz Festival in Miri, in northern Sarawak. To add to the interest and value created by these two festivals, the board hired Gerald Seligman, a New York-based music producer and veteran of the international world music scene to create a two-day regional expo _ The Borneo World Music Expo _ which will be held next Monday.
