Welcome to Guru 's Gate Crasher, your ultimate guide to finding something fresh to do in this big city.
The Lush charity crew are at it again tonight (Jul 26) with Bangkok's Green Night Out. It's the usual and huge spread of DJs, booze and glam, all for a cause. The Shark Fin Free Campaign will receive 30 per cent of all the net profits. Tickets are B450 (www.amiando.com/lush-soi11) if you're quick and get in before 2pm today, or B600 on the door; both include two drinks before 10:30pm, one after. Party is spread over two venues - Q Bar and Nest Rooftop Lounge (both Sukhumvit Soi 11) - which might fracture it a bit but no more than the elevators did at the last bash. Should be a decent turn out either way.
To mix the social with the creative, try opening of exhibition Everyday Portrait: Exhibition Description tonight (Jul 26). Photos are the work of Oat-Chaiyasith who captures the life, society and culture around him and us all every day of our lives. For the party, Katsue Band will perform live. Entry is free but dress to impress. Start time is 8:30pm. Venue is W Bangkok (106 Sathon Nua, 02-344-4000). Art will be up through Aug 9.
