Organised by lingerie firm Sabina for the sixth year in a row, the "Sewing Cup, Sewing Heart" charity campaign is appealing for volunteers to help sew 8,100 breast prostheses, which will be donated to needy breast cancer patients as well as to hospitals around the country.
Volunteers are needed to help make prostheses for breast cancer patients.
The campaign is being held to mark HM the Queen's 81st birthday, hence the target figure of 8,100. This year's effort is being supported by Muang Thai Life Assurance and PTT Global Chemical under the theme "Sharing is Caring".
The broader aim is to boost breast cancer awareness among Thai women and encourage them to monitor their own breast health more closely.
People wishing to volunteer their time and energy to this worthy cause are invited to drop by any Sabina sales counter (at leading department stores) or Muang Thai Life Assurance service centre and ask for a sewing kit, which includes all the necessary tools and materials.
The finished breast prostheses can be handed in to any Sabina counter and volunteers will be rewarded with a 100 baht cash voucher, which can be used for future purchases of Sabina products. The campaign continues until Dec 31.
