Sukhumbhand promises results in 1 year

Bangkok's governor-elect Sukhumbhand Paribatra has pledged the city's residents will see the results of his initiatives within a year.

Meanwhile, his vanquished rival Pongsapat Pongcharoen hopes to return to the posts he gave up to run for office.

MR Sukhumbhand said yesterday he would expedite urgent projects and follow up on schemes launched during his first term as governor. He promised the public would see results within one year.

Governor Sukhumbhand does not only think and talk very slowly, but also delivers and executes very slowly. He is a governor the city residents can hardly rely on. Fortunate to governor Sukhumbhand, many Bangkokians do not care who their governor is, nor to treasure their votes.

"Sukhumbhand promises results in 1 year" You gotta like this guy's sense of humor.

"27,000 surveillance cameras". Great idea but they don't have anyone to look at the ones they have now, or those cameras that work anyway and motorists will still be stuck in traffic.

"construction of three flood drainage tunnels". Has he not figured out that Bangkok is almost below sea level. Experts have warned that parts of Bangkok may subside below Sea level in as little as 7 years. So he better get a move on or Bangkok may not need a governor at all.

He's already had 4 years to do something worthwhile for the city and now we must wait another year? Does he know that the gabage collectors come to my area only once a week, a 50% reduction from what it used to be.

Flooding again in out-skirts of bangkok when the next monsoon rain comes is promised, same as last year happened.

The police chief said no red tape in handling reinstatement. His position is still vacancy.Pol Gen Pongsapat has to seek it within 30 days after announcement the result of election. In the meantime the traffic congestions and drug problems and crime problems remain stable at high rate because no one handle them for at least another 30 days.
