'Evil man from Krabi' victim speaks out

The maker of one of the most unusual complaints against the Kingdom's judiciary, and his teenage daughter, the woman at the heart of a contentious rape case, speak to 'Spectrum' on the music video's resulting storms of support and protest

'Im trying to pick up my life again, but until justice is served I'm finding it difficult," said the victim of a alleged rape in July, in Ao Nang, Krabi province last week.

"My daughter walked into a trap, made by a clever guy she trusted when he offered to bring her home on his scooter," her father explained.

It is a case that has reverberated around the Kingdom and the world. When the father became dismayed and angry at the suspect's belated arrest and subsequent "easy" release on bail, he created a protest video in black and white, set to a ska beat, in which he sings about bringing justice to the rapist, and he uploaded the four-minute clip to YouTube.

My suggestion to tourists in Thailand is to go everywhere in groups if possible. Everywhere is dangerous in Thailand for tourists when you think about the level of corruption in the police and justice system. Just be very very careful in your own safety if you ever wish to be in this Land of Smile!

D28; maybe you should read the whole story about evidence including the culprit’s confession before you blame someone you do not know. He is not a suspect, he committed to the crime that’s a big difference to someone accused of committing a crime.

Robins maybe the time will come when you will be direct or indirectly a victim to a crime maybe than you recognizes how ridiculous your accusations are.

Mr Chumphol and other officials if this had happened to your own daughter would you still say the same thing? I don't think so, why don't you think before speaking? Ma'am, we really expect some form of recognition from you as well, perhaps you can enlighten your male "co-workers"? Robins appears pathetically out of tune, think about your mother being beaten to pulp before writing dumb things.

'Do you have suggestions for tourists or Thai authorities to help prevent such crimes from happening again in the future?'
Yeah, I think I'll stay far away from Krabi, Chiang Mai and Pai from now on and advise visitors not to go to those places.

    D 21 robins

There was video evidence, DNA evidence, and the guy confessed - then retracted his confession and was released on bail.

The girl was beaten so badly, the doctors thought she had been in a motorcycle accident.

This is not a claim of rape, it was rape.

Dis#21 - at no time has anyone suggested that the girl was drunk, as if that would even be a defense for the attack, and she was so badly beaten that the hospital thought she had been involved in a motor accident. So I doubt that she screamed the 'R' word as you suggest without reason. Why don't you read all the facts before making such offensive remarks.

First I want to Thank Bangkok Post for a well written story.Let us just hope they don't forget about it.The only thing that will make Thailand do something about this is to make people think twice before coming here. There is NO justice for foreigners in the Thai legal system.I will put a link to this video so all my friends can see it and I hope all other foreigners living here will do the same.If this video makes people think twice before coming here or maybe even change their mind and go to another country then I am all for it.

There seem to be very few people who truly believe in the rule of law. If accusation equals guilt, do you really think there is absolutely no chance of you being accused of a crime? Innocent people are accused of crimes, and you would want a presumption innocence if you were named as a suspect.

Robins diss 21. It's obvious you don't have any daughters otherwise you surely wouldn't have made such an outrageous comment.
