D7: Heads of State are not equal to Royalty! Only Royalty can grant audiences. A president is not equal to a King or Queen, no matter which country.

#6. To their subjects, yes, but not to other heads of state. Note British and other European royal protocols. These relationships are governed by international protocols which assume the equality of the titular heads of independent nations. For instance, should the king of Cambodia make a state visit to the US, he would be treated, for protocol purposes, as the equal of the US President. The same applies when Queen Elzabeth visits the US - after all we had to concede their independence, damnit!

Do heads of state "grant audiences" to other heads of state?

So they want to help shape Asia's future? They way they have the Mid-East? I am sure everyone is looking forward to that. The best thing they could do for everyone concerned is to do like Gollum and "Go now and never come back!"

A man that devoted his life to public service for the benefit of his people together with the re-elected US President, perhaps the two could team up and try to make a better world. An inspirational and heartwarming moment. (Does Hillary Clinton not look like Sinead O'conner?)

Did he bow the way he did before the Saudi monarch and the emperor of Japan?
