Despite rhetoric about democracy and dictatorship in both countries, time will prove which country, USA or China, is sincere toward Thailand. In the past, we remember that even the US refused to help Thailand when it was hit by the tom yam kung economic crisis in 1997.

"Thailand can be a center of the world's supperpower nations". Was it Poland the buffer in world war two between allies and Germany? I am desperately hope that it will be no economic war between these two giants. Thailand will be flattend like Poland during the war. Do not give the flirty glance at both . They mean business not pleasure.

Thailand tries to play a nice guy with China which is run by the dictators. There is no comparison between the USA which is a western style democratic country, and China which is a single party dictatorial country.

I would invite Ms. Somjit for the Press Conference, the Channel 7 reporter, who is known for her persistent and tough questioning.

I suspect the differences between Obama and Wen will be stark. Obama faces political challenges at home, but Wen is leaving a country embroiled in corruption scandal after corruption scandal, little real democracy and an authoritarian one party state that is being challenged in ways that would have been unimaginable ten years ago. It's an economic dynamo (right now), but it also a political powder keg.

Not only that they will hold a joint-press conference during his visit, the Prime Minister should also secure Chinese public commitment to seriously address the South China Sea/East Sea/West Philippines Sea conflict. Thailand is the assigned leader to represent ASEAN in this urgent and high priority issue.
