ISA likely to be lifted soon

The government is ready to lift the Internal Security Act (ISA) once security agencies give an assurance that the streets have completely returned to normal, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said before attending a House meeting for the censure debate on Sunday morning.

Ms Yingluck said security agencies held a meeting on Sunday morning to assess the situation before sending a report to the cabinet.

They believe the situation has returned to normal and so the government should lift the ISA, she said, but did not mention an exact date.

bluebkk 4, "Facts only about this whole rally is that the government shamelessly lied and cheated to prevent all people to attend"

"The first clash happened at Makawan Rangsan Bridge at about 9am when the protesters tried to march through the police barricade to join the rally at the Royal Plaza. They refused to make a detour to the Wat Benjama Intersection and First Division Intersection, where police allowed the demonstrators to pass through." - TN, Nov 24, 2012

apachepat - "will donate the unused bulk of their 6 billion baht war chest to good causes that will help the poor and underprivilaged of which thailand has many.....nah, this crowd only ever think about themselves"

We'll all assume you're talking about UDD. Very accurate statement.

short rally, low turn out, can not have cost very much so maybe the organisers will donate the unused bulk of their 6 billion baht war chest to good causes that will help the poor and underprivilaged of which thailand has many.....nah, this crowd only ever think about themselves

Facts only about this whole rally is that the government shamelessly lied and cheated to prevent all people to attend . Gutter style tactics coming from their true leader , a convicted criminal on the run...How much lower can we go, how much deeper can we sink????

You really need to be on this forum to read that a majority of Thai supports a rally where the goal is to oust an elected government and to freeze the country for 5 years.

But after all, we read the same here for years about Abhisit who was supposed to receive a massive percentage of votes and who got 35 %...

Wake up now because you make us sleep with your popaganda and slogans for Seh ai rally.

  • Discussion 1 : 25 Nov 2012 at 17.161

Don't blame yourself Seh Ai for low turnout, when the government did everything they could to block the rally.

Use electronic media to spread your word - people are supporting your cause, enough cronyism, nepotism and corruption -- it must stop before we are bankrupt and generations ahead are working to pay off debts that cannot be cleared!
