Disscussion 22: I disagree, you can't mean "coordination". I think you mean military intelligence. Without the military.

@domdunn - The Malaysia insurgency was end by the British SAS, who ambushed and destroyed the leadership of the MPLA. Look up the Briggs Plan. I agree that the British response was coordinated. But coordination is an almost unknown word in Thailand.

In Malaysia the civil authorities were in charge, the police had primary responsibility for operations supported by the army where necessary but always commanded by the civilian authorities. The important fact was that it was an integrated approach with all the government agencies co-operating not at all like Thailand.

Statements by Thai governments and the Thai army are about as reliable as the statements by the American government during the VN war, which as I recall they were winning right up to the last moment.

Protect the schools, they'll shoot them in tea shops; protect the tea shops, they'll shoot them in the road. You cannot move forward except by negotiation.

I have a legitimate thought about the situation in the South, the DSI and trumped up murder charges.
If the DSI can say Abhisit should face murder charges for ordering the army to defend Bangkok and soldiers killed people as a result, can Yingluck therefor be charged with murder? She has openly claimed to be in charge of national security, she has openly claimed to be in charge of the troops in the South, so does their allowing the deaths of dozens of innocent people constitute murder charges? She's in charge. She places the orders. Their performance has resulted in deaths just as surely as the PTP's claim that Abhisit's actions caused innoc

dom - when TRT was in charge, they said all the insurgents were living and training in Malaysia. And I have several friends that served in Vietnam so I well know what guerrillas can do, but still, 40,000 boots on the ground and you can't protect a limited number of schools or teachers? Ridiculous.

"The answer to you question is that no army will never win against guerrillas no matter how overwhelming their numbers." Tell that to the Malaysians.

All MPs must have a university degree, the same old trick to keep poor people out of parliament.

British PM Winston Churchill and about 5% of the members of the US Congress never went to university.
