Yingluck: I am the real prime minister

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Thursday brushed aside a report in the New York Times that during her year-and-a-half in office most of the important political decisions were made via Skype from overseas by her elder brother and former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

She is the Thai people's democratic elected PM . Who's gives her advice or insights is not important no matter what the western "free" press might try to fantasize. Democracy in action!

New York Times and some western media that dependent on advertising revenue behave the same manner. When faced with a rebuttal, they will either not publish them, or not publish in full, or they are being edited. Their purpose is not to be truthful in their writing but write in such a way that will arouse an increase in readership. It is also an interesting game to play in the arena of advertising competition. Of course, they can fool people who have no time or could not border to check.

Spoken like a true politician with the ability to lie with a convincing performance; give her another 3 years and she may even out do her elder sibling. Try reshuffling some key ministerial positions with her people in government or make some bold initiatives that are not populist in nature and see how BIG brother responses to such moves by his little sister. The New York Times is a very respectable news media organization staffed with experienced investigative journalists and responsible editors; such allegation is not made without concrete proves and facts checking. However, this inconvenient truth is open secret to us in Thailand.
