Yingluck wants more realistic City Hall policies

PM reviews Pongsapat poll campaign strategy

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra wants Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen, the Bangkok governor candidate for her Pheu Thai Party, to come up with more realistic campaign policies.

Suranand Vejjajiva, secretary-general to the prime minister, said Ms Yingluck wanted Pol Gen Pongsapat to woo votes with different, innovative and suitable policies that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) could achieve and to emphasise his advantage of being able to cooperate smoothly with the government.

Mr Suranand noted that people in Bangkok preferred realistic policies to vote campaigns that focused only on introducing candidates.

Oh, no a "Team of potential deputy Bangkok governors ". A formula for disaster as then they will devise a "Master Plan", buy land, set a budget, print contractor bid specifications, have hundreds of meetings, ( including 5 star lunches ),and seeing their Master Plan turning to dust, turn it all over to Crusader Chalerm who will put it on the bottom of the pile labelled " 'Unfulfilled promises ".

englisbob no I am not suggesting that ,But to close the way totally for the flood water to pass through was not a poor decision causing 7 weeks of misery to those on the wrong side of the big bag wall. Please do not forget 60 million people live in Thailand. Many of those in the capital living of the backs of the other 50 million.Bangkok could not survive without the rest of Thailand no matter what you think.

"Pol Gen Pongsapat yesterday denied Ms Yingluck was upset with his vote campaign". Then why the need for a 2 hour meeting to discuss his campaign. Clearly Mr T told his sister he was displeased with the lack of concrete policies. The candidate does not need moral support from the PM, he needs polices to address the problems in Bangkok.

For someone as prominent as the PM to say your policies are not realistic would spell the end for most candidate's political campaigns, but this is Thailand.

This goverment came to power through populist promises, they didn't deliver, and so did Pongsapat likewise, jumping on the wagon of utterly lies and propaganda.
This just doesn't work in Bangkok however, as the average education of the real Bangkokians is above that of a Pol Gen on the payroll of Mr. T.

what did you expect from a police officer? They can't tell right from wrong and they can't even have sense enough to enforce traffic laws...then wonder why there are so many accidents.

Disc 14 - What a complete and utter misunderstanding of the facts.

It was Sukhumband standing up to Peua Thai that prevented the city centre from being flooded when idiots were suggesting it would be 'fair' to flood a city of 10 million people.

RE: D12 your statement about control of the PM over the Governor makes no sense, as it was actually the lack of cooperation by the Governor during the floods that exasperated the problem and made it even worse for everyone in the long run. The PM is not supposed to have "control" of the Governor, but the total purposeful uncooperative stance of Sukhumbhand caused both people in and north of the city more misery solely for political reasons. Anyway he will loose,(as even many in his own party won't support him) so may the best other candidate win, and they are all poor choices in my opinion.
