Exam errors earn students bonus marks

Mathayom 3 (Grade 9) students who took the Ordinary National Education Tests last weekend will be credited with an extra 20 marks each after a flaw was detected in two questions for the Thai language subject.

Onet exams for Prathom 6 and Mathayom 3 students were held last weekend, but some of the Mathayom 3 students cried foul as the answers for two Thai questions did not match the options given on the answer sheets.

Questions No 51 and No 52 gave students 10 options to choose from, but the answer sheet contained space for only four answers. Half the students received flawed answer sheets.

I once helped give the university entrance exams. Some questions in the English section had 2 correct choices, a few had 3 and one had no correct answer.

Doesn't say much for the teachers who set the questions. And people still wonder why Thai education is so poor.
