Ex-chief denies cop shop guilt

Pongsapat says charges linked to governor race

Former deputy police chief Pongsapat Pongcharoen said claims he is responsible for the delayed construction of police stations across the nation are aimed at undermining his chances in the Bangkok governor election.

Pol Gen Pongsapat visited Department of Special Investigation (DSI) director-general Tarit Pengdith yesterday afternoon to insist he is innocent.

Pol Gen Pongsapat said accusations by his political opponents trying to link him to the police building mess were defamatory.

I don't know. You can speculate that if you want. On Nov 18, 2009, acting national police chief Pol Gen Pateep Tanprasert asked then-prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to replace regional bidding contests with a central bidding contest. Pol Gen Pongsapat was never involved in this. His proposal was for bidding contests at the regional level not a central bidding contest. Shame to the DP for using such a tactic to maliciously slander Pol Gen Pongsapat.

"Pongsapat Pongcharoen said claims he is responsible for the delayed construction of police stations across the nation are aimed at undermining his chances in the Bangkok governor election" ... very smart, I am impressed.

boontong is it a strange coincidence that the PTP bought charges against the incumbent governor, about the rail extension, just when he announced that he was re-running??

Shame on you the DP. Instead of being a party with integrity, you used such dirty tactic to maliciously slander another politician.
