Is this the same story that says "passengers making their way through the airport's arrival gates were unaware anything had been wrong." Or where there two incidents involving a Thai airways aircraft at Auckland on the same day?

Same thing just happened in Auckland, New Zealand.

"Emergency services rushed to the runway at Auckland International Airport today when a Thai Airways flight carrying 286 people blew a tyre" - nzherald.co.nz

Why does this look like a maintenance issue, with no evidence of that from the story?
Is it not possible due to a hard landing, or striking debris on the runway at Bangkok or even striking debris on the take off runway in Kolkata, damaging the tyre there?
Standard proceed is for one pilot to "walk around" the aircraft, prior to EVERY departure, checking the tyres and the flight surfaces for damage.
What evidence do you have to show Thai Airways has maintenance issues? If you have anything to back this claim up, you have a moral duty to protect the public by reporting this and producing this evidence to the aviation authorities.

Unless here was a material defect in the tire (which is unlikely) this looks like a maintenance issue. There's no excuse for this. Inspections should reveal tire damage long before a potentially disastrous rupture. Explain to me why Thailand's least cost-competitive airline has maintenance issues? And where else is THAI ignoring inspection protocols?

I check the tires and inflation on my truck BEFORE I take a trip.

"All on board the plane were rescued." Hardly even worthy of being a news story, let alone "RESCUED". A bit over dramatic and sensational, you think?

I thought tyres came in pairs, just like on large trucks?

tyre explodes ! The tyres on aircraft are filled with nitogen...When the fail they make a big bang! A sonic boom! It is not a problem and is quite common. Aircraft are tested with this in mind, and one tyre breaking up isn't a major problem, within 4-6 hours the plane would have a new one and checks on the running gear and runway checks for debris ( remember Concorde)it would be flying again.
