PT denies grooming Yaowapa for PM

The ruling Pheu Thai Party has dismissed rumours it was intending to groom Yaowapa Wongsawat, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's younger sister, to take over as prime minister.

The suggestion was made by the Democrat Party following the resignation of Kasem Nimmonrat, an aide to Mrs Yaowapa, as a Pheu Thai MP for Chiang Mai.

The opposition said Mr Kasem's resignation was probably intended to make way for Mrs Yaowapa, the wife of former prime minister Somchai Wongsawat, to return as an MP after being freed from a five-year political ban and take over from Yingluck Shinawatra as prime minister in case Ms Yingluck is disqualified over a loan transaction probe by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).

Disc 22 - "innocent people aren't easily accused and tried if it were not for real evidence, especially when it comes to influential figures, you can't just make up stuff to frame famous people" Really? How about Jesus of Nazareth, Joan of Arc, Alfred Dreyfus, Dr. Sam Sheppard and my favorite Rubin ”Hurricane” Carter, the list goes on and on. Strangely all those that were wrongfully convicted were in countries with very well developed judiciaries and Democracies something that can't be easily said for Thailand.

History will take its course, innocent people aren't easily accused and tried if it were not for real evidence, especially when it comes to influential figures, you can't just make up stuff to frame famous people unless your grain of salt is as big as a baseball.

I don't see there is any reason for PTP to be afraid of admitting grooming Yaowapa or anyone for that matters, if it is true. Why not DP try to groom Sondhi (PAD)? Any party can try to groom anyone but you don't get to decide. This is not like the recent change of leaders in China that people has no choice but to accept. At the end of the day, the Thai people will decide by their voting. So what is all these hooha?

Disc 19 - Boy are you are being hard on the Democrats. They have some very good younger candidates the problem is they lack any leadership capable of winning an election and they need to dump the resurrected TRT platforms and come up with some new ideas of their own. Both impossible, I know, but that's what they need to do.

With a large number of intelligent people living in Bangkok it amazes me to think any Dem candidate could get elected to any position.

Ricefield: Is that a kid reading a comic whilst trying to eat a Magnum, but with a bandana over his mouth on your picture?

Ps - it does not look like a microphone, and whom exactly is being stifled from speaking in the one party utopia that you clamor for?

Thaksin-haters are defaced after Yingluck was elected the PM. Thaksin-haters will be further defaced if Yaowapa is elected as MP.

With the large number of intelligent people living in Chaing Mai, it amazes me that a PTU candidate could get elected to any position.

Rather than whining about the PTP, the Democrat supporters from this forum can hit the ground and help get a Democrat elected in Chiang Mai. They won't of course being that it would be futile but they will continue complaining about how undemocratic another PTP win will be.
