Critics have accused the Energy Ministry of exaggerating the threat of last Friday's potential power shortage.
Witoon Permpongsacharoen, director of Mekong Energy and Ecology Network (MEE Net), said ministry officials should tell the truth behind the power shortage story because it caused panic and confusion for the public.
The threat of blackouts was not convincing, Mr Witoon said. "We had information that the country still had enough energy left."
