Samut Prakan police pressed charges of recklessness causing death against two kindergarten teachers on Thursday after a three-year-old girl who was left for hours in a sweltering vehicle died on Wednesday morning.
Teachers Daoruang Srisumang and Santiphap Wanchai, who was also the driver of the school van in which the child was left alone in the heat, acknowledged the charges at Bang Pu police station.
Manassanan Thongphu, or Nong Oey, died two weeks after she suffered swelling of the brain from lengthy exposure to extreme heat. The van in which she was used to transport students to Anongvet Kindergarten School in tambon Phreaksa Mai of Muang Samut Prakan.
