YALA : A bomb blast Saturday morning that killed eight soldiers and injured another two could be the work of insurgents linked to Barisan Revolusi Nasional who are upset that the group is in peace talks with the government, authorities say.
CARNAGE: The wreckage of a Unimog army truck is scattered on Ban Truepa-Ban Pawang road in Yala’s Krong Pinang district after being hit by a powerful bomb. Eight soldiers were killed and two others injured in the incident.
Ten soldiers from the 13th Yala Task Force were returning to duty from a morning break when a bomb buried under the Ban Truepa-Ban Pawang road in Yala was detonated at about 6.30am.
