TAK - The Thai-Myanmar Regional Border Committee is to be asked to consider offering Myanmar visa services at the Myawaddy-Mae Sot immigration checkpoint.
Mae Sot district office chief Preecha Jaipech said he would make a request later this month after Mae Sot airport received a budget of 862 million baht to fund its plan to upgrade to become an international airport. A low-cost airline will commence flights between Mae Sot and two cities in Myanmar in September and October.
The Myawaddy-Mae Sot immigration checkpoint already provides passport services to Myanmarese who live and work in Thailand.
