Judge Wasan Soypisudh's decision to resign from the Constitution Court was a personal decision, and not the result of political pressure, court spokesman Pimol Thampithakpong says.
Mr Wasan has resigned, both as president and as a judge of the court. His resignation takes effect on Aug 1.
In his resignation letter, Mr Wasan said that, on taking the post of Constitution Court president on Oct 26, 2011, he promised to remain in the job for no longer than two years.
