The plight of the four Thai nationals abducted by a gang of kidnappers in southern Nigeria on Friday is not yet known, Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul said on Sunday.
Mr Surapong was referring to a report that the kidnappers on a boat attacked the four Thais and two Nigerians in the Buguma area while they were on their way to work at a fish farm in the southern state of Rivers.
The report said the kidnappers sped off and later dropped the two Nigerians somewhere. One of the Nigerians reportedly drowned. The four Thais were still with the kidnappers, it said.
