Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul has denied a news report that the government has paid 20 million baht to hire former British prime minister Tony Blair to attend its forum promoting reconciliation.

He said he ordered the Foreign Ministry's International Organisation Department to invite prominent world leaders to Thailand to share their experiences about peace negotiations.
