SAMET OIL SPILL
Local business operators in Rayong rallied yesterday to demand PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) pay them compensation and set up a fund to alleviate the long-term impact from last month's oil spill.
The rally-goers, including fishermen, shop owners and transport service providers, submitted a petition to the company via the provincial governor yesterday.
They said the petition was a reminder to the company of its responsibility for the July 27 incident in which oil leaked out of the company's pipeline off the Rayong shore.
