School employees under the Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) protested at Government House and the Education Ministry yesterday demanding a pay rise.

The demonstrators, made up of mostly school administrative staff and other contract employees, called on the government to adjust the salaries of those holding bachelor's degrees from 9,000 baht to 15,000 baht. School workers with the lowest education levels should be paid at least the minimum wage of 300 baht a day, they said.
