The cabinet on Tuesday approved a pay rise for employees of the Office of the Basic Education Commission to 15,000 baht a month for graduates and 9,000 baht for undergraduates.
According to deputy government spokeswoman Sunisa Lertpakawat, the rise covers employees paid daily and monthly, including caretakers.
Monthly incomes for graduates will rise from 9,140 to 15,750 baht including social security.
For undergraduates, incomes will increase from 5,700-6,410 to 9,450 baht including social security.
The rise will take retroactive effect from Oct 1, 2012, to comply with the government's promise to increase monthly incomes for graduates and undergraduates.
About 65,000 employees will enjoy the pay hike, which will cost the state about 3.3 billion baht.
