Police arrested a man and seized 195,800 methamphetamine pills with an estimated street value of 60 million baht at a bus terminal in Bangkok, police said on Thursday.
Pol Maj Gen Charnthep Sesawes deputy commander of metropolitan police, told a press conference that Sayan Khumwong, 41, was arrested at the Southern Bus Station terminal No 53 in Taling Chan district of Bangkok.
The illegal drugs were hidden inside three travel bags in the suspect's possession, he said.
Mr Sayan allegedly told police he was paid 40,000 baht per trip for delivering yaba pills from the northeastern province of Buengkhan to clients in Hat Yai district of Songkhla province. He had carried drugs to the southern city for four times.
