The Supreme Patriarch’s overall condition has improved, with no postoperative complications after his bowel surgery, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital announced Tuesday.
According to the hospital’s second announcement on the medical condition of His Holiness Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara this week, his blood pressure is now within the normal range, while he is not suffering from any fever.

The medical team treating him were able to keep lowering the dose of medication used to raise his blood pressure, but antibiotics were still being administered.
On Monday, the 100-year-old revered monk underwent an operation to treat intestinal ischemia and bacterial infections in his colon and small intestine. His condition required the medical team to remove parts of his bowels.
According to Chulalongkorn Hospital, members of the public can come and write messages wishing the Supreme Patriarch a speedy recovery at the hospital's Ananda Mahidol Building every day between 8am and 5pm.
The Supreme Patriarch has been ill since Feb 20, 2002, when he was admitted to Chulalongkorn Hospital. He turned 100 on Oct 3.
